Split Reins
These reins are made from the same 1/2" spliceable double braid polyester rope (commonly called Yacht Braid or Marine Rope) as the lead ropes. I developed these reins because I like the weight and feel of it while I am riding. Standard length is 7 foot. It is available in two different variations. The braided back is a simpler less expensive version. Nickel plated trigger snaps are spliced into the leads. The benefit of the added weight gives the rein a mecate type action. The other version is also 7 foot in length standard. Leather keepers (latigo or hand oiled vegetable tanned leather) are added for convenience of replacing the trigger snaps or attaching directly to the bit. It still give the feel of a mecate rein. This rein is available in either a nickel plated or brass trigger snap. Contact me for any special variations.

Continuous Reins
The standard length of my continuous reins is 9'. Nickel plated trigger snaps are spliced into each end of the rein. Added weight of the splice give the reins a mecate type action. The snaps can also be attached via leather straps. The snaps can be used or simply remove them and attach the reins directly to the bit. Leather can be specified pre oiled, natural color or latigo.
